Item Description
These 4 real photo buttons without dot pattern are likely souvenirs of her appearance at the 1901 Pan-American Exposition. Her concession there was run by Frank Bostock, more famous for trained animals, and Chiquita’s principle act was to hold daily receptions in her Chiquita-sized drawing room where guests who paid the needed 15¢ could ask her questions and marvel at her beautiful gowns, jewelry and general bric-a-brac including her collection of rare old lace. All 4 of these buttons picture her in her famous elaborate dresses. Each photograph is different. Two are on 7/8” buttons and two are on 1.25” buttons. The one larger button has some yellow tone to it due to the nature of the celluloid covering and the one smaller button has just a hint of yellowing on the area of her dress but overall condition is VF to Mint. Incredible detail. Hake book Collectible Pin-Back Buttons photo example Circuses #90, 92, 93, 94. Comes with Hake’s COA.
