Item Description
The University of Georgia first played football in 1892 and games that year included Auburn with their annual games becoming the south’s oldest intercollegiate rivalry. This button has a W&H backpaper used in 1898 which was the year the University of Georgia joined the newly formed Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Wonderful design of crouching bulldog wearing spiked collar beneath slogan “Eat ‘Em Up” with the “Auburn” pennant hanging from his lower fangs. Only the most trivial traces of wear. N. Mint, displaying Mint. Comes with Hake’s COA. Only one we’ve seen.
