1.25 button has 3 condition issues but still displays quite nicely. The celluloid covering has quite a few short and long craze lines most noticeable only in reflected light. In addition, bottom edge has dark streak of stain 1” long. The reverse metal cover has quite heavy oxidation although metal remains intact and the horizontal bar pin remains functional. A pair of Cuban flags flank the oval portraits of the “Campeon” with his name “Kid Chocolate” below. Opposite him is “Manager” with name below “Luis F. Gutierrez.” Top of button with exclamation point accents reads “Bienvendios.” Early in his career, Kid Chocolate sparred with Benny Leonard and Jack Johnson. His professional career began Dec. 1927 in Havana and in 1928 he came to the United States. During the 1930s he held the world light weight title.
