Item Description
1.75” with W&H name on the back but larger text stating “Made For/Chas. T. Metzler Co./New Castle, Pa.” Front of the button carries same city name along with date “Oct. 2-5, 1900.” In best quality color is depicted woman in plumed hat and long blonde hair exposing much of her ample bosom as she straddles a donkey and exposes her thighs. This was a stock design of the Whitehead & Hoag Co. used on many different buttons but we believe this is the first we’ve seen related to firemen. Text is a hair off-center but o/w N.
