Item Description
Pair, both with built-in keys. First and foremost is boy drummer 9” tall with tin litho body and base, celluloid head and parasol. Japan, 1930s. Boy is depicted in very flashy outfit and stands in front of drum and bell which he plays. Platform base illustrated on all sides and depicts band jamming, drum is marked “Jazz.” Works and parasol rotates as boy plays drum. Scattered trace of aging with tiny scattered paint nicks. Fine. Second is 5.5” tall xylophone player. Figure is celluloid while xylophone and base is painted tin. He holds a pair of strikers with wood balls on end. Toy works and moves back and forth as he strikes all six of the numbered bars so six different musical notes are produced. Occupied Japan, 1940s. Small traces of paint wear to base which is VF while figure itself is Exc.
