Item Description
Large and impressive toy stands 13” tall. 1930s by Kuramochi, Japan. Ballerina figure in pirouette pose is celluloid with lace skirt and stands on painted wood base. Attached to head is metal post with rotating disc and bells with a propeller-like celluloid top. Attached to this are series of accents of either strings with single small ball or longer strings covered by celluloid tubing with multiple ball attachments. All are complete and intact. Has built-in key and works. Parasol rotates one way as ballerina rotates in opposite direction. Lt. aging to skirt, base has trace of wear mostly to underside. All celluloid shows just lt. aging. VF. Exceptional toy in size and design.
