Item Description
Following Lindbergh’s 1927 solo flight, this trio pictured and identified on the button as “Friendship Fliers” with their names across their photo “Lou Gordon-Amelia Earhart-Wilmer Stultz” made the flight from Newfoundland to Wales, United Kingdom. Earhart went along as a passenger although given the job of keeping the flight log. Interviewed after landing she said “Stultz Did All The Flying. Had To. I Was Just Baggage, Like A Sack Of Potatoes.” One of only 2 buttons we know of to picture her. Button is a souvenir of the massive ticker tape parade the crew received upon their return to New York. Some near microscopic horizontal hairlines at the button’s center but this is as produced and the piece displays Mint. Rare.
