Item Description
We’ve seen about 4 examples of this 1.25” button in 4 decades and as far as we know it is the only one inscribed with the famous name “Standard Oil Company.” Button has backpaper with tiny W&H text at bottom c. 1898 with larger text filling most of the backpaper “Always Use Aladdin Oil For Sale Everywhere.” Front of the button is in great color and depicts “Aladdin” lamp along with small images representing medals awarded at various expositions. Primary text reads “Aladdin Security Oil For Family Use.” Design just a hair off-center to the bottom and barely perceptible trace of age tone on the extreme top rim edge. Button still displays Exc. with high gloss. Hake Book Collectible Pin-back Buttons photo example Home Products Section #471. Comes with Hake’s COA.
