Item Description
Joseph Merkel began his motorcycle business in 1901 by attaching small motors to bicycles. The resulting Merkel Motorcycle became known for its excellent ride and reliability. This button dates from 1908, the same year he merged his company with the Light Motor Co. moving activities of the new “Merkel Light Motor Co.” from Wisconsin to Pottstown, PA. This graphic 1.25” has backpaper by Ehrman of Boston. A superb example. N. Mint, displaying Mint.
