Item Description
7/8” button with advertising image created by firm called Local Trademarks of NYC. The image was used from 1924-1949 and this button we would put as c. 1925 with backpaper by St. Louis Button Co. Depicted is robot-like character made of wood standing at attention with a hammer in one hand and saluting with the other. The slogan is “We Are All For ‘Bill Ding’.” The character was much like his counterpart Reddy Kilowatt and was used by various lumber and/or building companies scattered across the country. Scarce and essentially Mint. From The Richard Merkin Collection. Comes with Hake's COA.
