Item Description
We believe this type of device served as a clip for paper money. It consists of a 7/8” celluloid button with a reverse metal collet designed to hold a stiff circular wire. Silver luster is mostly off this wire but the celluloid remains essentially Mint. Additional rim text reads “Sold Under Bonafide Guarantee” while at center is seal design of “Thomas J. Hunt Notary Public Philadelphia PA.” Backpaper has name of W&H who made this item plus names of the cigar manufacturer and distributor in Norristown, PA. Only example we’ve seen.
