Item Description
4.5x5x7” tall painted and glazed ceramic. Depicts Donald with a rather apprehensive look on his face standing in front of a large beehive. Beehive has flat back plus openings as it was designed to be used as a lamp base although no hardware included. 1950s by Shaw. While a Donald beehive planter is noted (but not pictured) in Disneyana Collector’s Guide To California Pottery, this version as a lamp base was previously unknown in the hobby. Typical and exceedingly minor crazing really only visible upon very close inspection. Remains totally bright, glossy and Exc. Exceptional design and a true Donald rarity.
