Item Description
This finely crafted item is a silver pillbox marked “Sterling” on the side rim. The hinged lid has the incised emblem of the U.S. Capitol with eagle below and ribbon design reading “Reagan/Bush” all encompassed by a circular inscription “Inauguration Of President And Vice-President.” The underside has engraved date “1-20-81.” The item is 7/16” deep and 1-3/8” in dia. The lid opens and is held in place by a hinge at the back. Front edge of the lid has a small clasp to keep it closed. This gift was designed for and given to only the attending wives of people known as “Republican Eagles” who were in the category of having donated $10,000 to the Republican campaign. Metal surfaces are totally clean with just exceedingly minor traces of normal wear. A rare and extremely limited Reagan inaugural giveaway.
