Item Description
7/8” litho tin tab (plus unbent stem) reads “Repeal The Racist Walter McCarran Law.” The official name of this law was “Immigration And Nationality Act.” In 1952 Truman vetoed it as “Un-American” and discriminatory but his veto was over-ridden. This tab is likely c. 1953 when efforts continued to get it off the books. Paint has numerous but tiny marks. Still bright and clean. Scarce.
