Item Description
1930s by Seiberling Latex Products Co. who produced a number of different boxed sets which came in different illustrated boxes and with different figure configurations. This box is 6.5x8.25x3” deep and contains 5” to 5.5” tall rubber figures of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. As these figures are typically found, both are with notable defects. The rare Mickey figure is a bit misshapen as his head has sunk and is stationary where it was once movable. However, o/w remains quite nice with very little paint wear, arms intact and positioned behind his body. No tail. Donald has all-over crazing and some chipping around brim of hat. Hairline at neck but still intact. Both figures still displayable as is. The gorgeous box features images on lid of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto, Big Bad Wolf and Three Little Pigs as all were produced as Seiberling figures. Side panel notes this is set “2970” containing Mickey #2420 and Donald #2450. Box bottom is complete with divider. Box has all-over moderate wear/aging with a .5” split at one corner but o/w corners are tight and color remains strong. Box overall still Fine. A rarely seen box and in fact the only one we’ve offered in our 43 years. From the Michael J. Stern Collection.
