Item Description
As rare and desirable as the Mickey Rosenthal figurines are (see items #1698 and #1699). This is by far the rarest and most sought after Mickey Rosenthal item. Produced as a 16-piece, six serving set, this lot is missing just 1 teacup and the serving tray. This lot includes 3” tall teapot with lid, 1.5” tall sugar with lid and open creamer, five 1” tall teacups and six 2.75” dia. saucers. Every piece has “Rosenthal Bavaria” mark on underside. c. 1932. Classic Mickey images appear on every piece, two on the creamer, three on the sugar, cups and saucers and seven on the teapot. There are a total of four different images, two depicting Mickey in standing pose, two more expressive images of him walking & scratching his head and in pose as if taken aback. Each piece is beautifully detailed with gold luster accents. The inner rim edge of the teapot has rough edge on 50% of the rim due to production flaw but not visible when lid is in place so it in no way affects its appearance for display. Some of the images do have tiniest trace of wear but overall set remains choice, Exc./N. Mint condition. Individual pieces are rare and in fact we have never offered a single piece in our previous 43 years, making this near-set an extraordinary offering. This the actual example shown in the Official Price Guide To Disney Collectibles By Ted Hake and comes with COA. Listed as a complete set in N. Mint with a value of $15,000.
