Item Description
Overall size is 4x5x3.5” tall. 3” tall painted cast metal figure of Mickey is attached atop carved wood base and stands next to a tree stump. Stump has hinged lid and opens to reveal porcelain ink well, front of base is recessed for storage of pen. Early 1930s. Great Mickey figure with hands on hips. This same figure was used in a variety of different ways, in a few of our most recent auctions we’ve had it as a safety pin holder and matchbox holder and both of those sold in excess of $750. This is the most interesting use of this figure we’ve seen and also the first we’ve seen of this ink well in our 43 years. Figure has small scattered traces of paint wear. Missing spring tail. Wood base shows lt. aging and has a few small ink stains. Overall Fine.
