Item Description
The Disney Good Housekeeping story is thoroughly detailed in the book “Walt Disney’s Mickey And The Gang Classic Stories In Verse” published by Gemstone. To quote from that book “Poetic Disney Stories Hit The Newsstands In 1934, When The Animation Studio Joined In A Mutual Promotional Plan With Good Housekeeping Magazine.” GH felt that a Disney page in each issue of the magazine would be a sales plus while Disney liked the idea of a permanent advance publicity break for its latest cartoon shorts. This partnership ran from April of 1934 through September 1944. This lot consists of a 100% complete Good Housekeeping run. 135 pages in total, all very neatly removed from the magazines. The run includes 117 individual stand-alone pages, 7 pages comprising the multi-part Snow White story, 7 pages comprising the multi-part Pinocchio story and 3 continuous monthly Bambi pages. Also included is the page from December 1940 which lacked the standard Disney verse page, rather included a “Toy Festival” promotion featuring Mickey. Countless classics are included such as The Grasshopper and the Ants, The Wise Little Hen, The Band Concert, Mickey’s Magic Hat, Donald’s Elephant, Three Little Wolves, much, much more. All pages are Exc. A rare opportunity to obtain the complete run, the first such run we have offered in our 43 years. Pages come stored in a nice quality three-ring binder in individual sleeves but any or all could be removed and are superb for framing. Additional photos online.
