Item Description
22x28.5”. 1.25” high relief frame. Text at bottom left reads “Copyrighted 1903 By E.I. DuPont de Nemours Powder Co.” Renowned artist Edmund Henry Osthaus (1858-1928) created a series of postcards, prints and calendar pictures for DuPont. He focused his subject matter on hunting scenes primarily of sporting dogs. This is a classic example of his artistic abilities. Scattered tiny specks are visible when viewed in reflected light, o/w art image remains bright, clean and VF. Frame area shows scattered scuffs/rubs mostly around outermost edge. Two holes appear on either side to be used for mounting. Tin is free of rust with sharp edges on all sides. Any scuffs or rubs are not noticeable when viewing at an arm’s length. One dent at top left frame area not offensive. A classic piece of advertising art for gunpowder/ammunition. Fine/VF.
