Item Description
13” tall. c. 1890s. Die-cut cardboard countertop stand-up. Front shows detailed illustration of Santa smoking pipe and holding bottles of Ayer’s Cherry Pectoral. Boxes behind him are marked the same. Box that he is reaching into has product name on front and “North Pole Line/Santa/Artic Circle” on the top. Front of sled reads “Wishing You A Merry Christmas.” Side of sled has stylized “SC.” Extensive back text has sections titled “Christmas And St. Nicholas, Ayer’s Cherry Pectoral, Has Saved Thousands Of Lives, Read The Following Testimonials, And Chromo Litho ‘Statuettes’.” This die-cut sign is listed as “St. Nicholas” in their list of 4 characters. Missing small stand on back. Could be easily replaced but displays great as is. Light aging and edge wear. Fine.
