13x22” frame contains 12.25x21” poster showing triumphant scene of Max on the back of Bernard as Moishe,Emil and Tzippy dance. Text at bottom right reads “To Commemorate The Presentation Of The Hans Christian Andersen Award Illustrator’s Medal To Maurice Sendak At Bologna, Italy, April 4, 1970. Reproduction From Where The Wild Things Are By Maurice Sendak, Published By Harper & Rowe In 1963.” At bottom left Sendak has signed “For Richard From Maurice Sendak, With Great Pleasure! May ‘78” in black ink. Poster has a st. fade but still a nice item personalized from one artist to another. Professionally framed and ready for display. Exc.
