Item Description
Pair of 5-1/8x7-1/8x1.25” deep boxes contains sets by Transogram. Included are sets No. 3133 “Popeye Bubble-Set” and No. 3331 “Popeye Magic Bubble Set.” Both have King Features Syndicate copyrights, first set is ©1936. Other set made c. mid-1930s. First set has great illustrations of Popeye with pipe and Olive Oyl popping bubbles. Two generic wooden bubble pipes come with 2-5/8x3-7/8” embossed tin soap container/dish with embossed “Popeye” image and name. Heavy paint wear. VG. Box has some ink touch-up to edges but remains glossy and displays Exc. Second set comes with generic wooden bubble pipe with 2 pipe discs with holes to make different sized bubbles. Also comes with same size soap dish with embossed “Popeye" name and image as well as 2.25x3” figural “Pop-Eye”(sic) soap. Exc. overall.
