Item Description
11.5” wide by 11.5” tall by 7” deep “Plastoparis” bust depicts a nearly life sized Josephine Baker including her neck and head as well as her hand pointing to her trademark curls. Baker’s chin rests on display with “Bakerfix” name and recessed area to set a sample Josephine Baker marketed hair pomade so that women could copy her famous style. c. 1920s. Scattered aging and dust soiling but overall display piece retains a VF appearance. Wonderful depiction of a smiling Baker who winks as she points to her hair. The ultimate Josephine Baker figural/display piece. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA. Rare and the first we’ve seen in our 43 years.
