Item Description
10.75x13.75” thin cardboard sign promoting “Batman With Robin In Color Every Day In The Daily Oklahoman” newspaper. Sign has “Batman” comic book logo and nice image of Batman and Robin running towards viewer with “Zap!” word sound effect. Vertical crease at center with 3.25” tear at top center margin. 11x14” thin cardboard sign promotes “They’re Here! Color Comics And Batman Every Day In The Daily Oklahoman – The Sunday Oklahoman” newspapers. This sign features same images from previous sign though in different configurations/coloring. Tape staining at margins with surface paper lifts along top margin. Both signs have scattered aging/moisture staining as they were displayed on newsstands as vendor promotional signs and were exposed to weather. Signs of this type are rarely found in nice shape as they were attached to newspaper rack fronts. Distributed by The Ledger Syndicate, Inc. ©1966 National Periodical Publications, Inc. Printed in-house by newspaper to promote “Batman” comic strip at the height of Batmania. Both VG. From the Craig Warren Collection.
