Item Description
Lot of 35 larger scale, 2.5x4” lantern slides. 22 are military-related including USS Maine arriving in harbor, the sunken remains of The Maine the next day, Cubans with rifles, cannons, damage and many of soldiers. Remaining are civilians and Cuban scenes. Also in the military-related group is image of Theodore Roosevelt in center of group of officers. Nice image of Admiral Dewey is also on one of the slides in this group. With the exception of the Roosevelt slide which has a lt. crack on reverse at top which does not affect the image to any great extent, all other slides are unbroken and Exc. Additional photos online.
