Item Description
14x20.5” thin artboard featuring original pen and ink art by George Papp for Oct., 1960 issue of “Adventure Comics” which was published by DC Comics. This page with 6 panels was part of a 12-page story called “The Duel For Earth” that featured Superboy stopping an alien invasion by participating in a duel. Page we are offering shows Superboy attempting to penetrate spaceship hull in order to prove his strength to invading aliens. Superboy bounces off ship and his dog Krypto flies in to make an attempt as well, also bouncing off causing him to leave in tears. Superboy is pictured in all but last panel, Krypto is in 3. Art has been signed in blue felt tip pen “Best Of Regards To Ken From Superboy And George Papp.” “Adventure Comics” paste-over title board along top margin with DC Comics/Superman logos. Scattered production notations at margins. Page has been folded horizontally twice, fold lines situated between panels and not affecting art itself. Moderate aging/handling wear to margins with .5” tear at bottom right corner. Fine-.
