Item Description
12x14.5x5.5” thick solid bronze plaque weighs 21 lbs. Picture frame style border surrounds images in relief of 5 figures with weapons. Upper left shows emblem of eagle with crossed fasces. Main scene is of 3 soldiers in helmets, each aiming an automatic weapon. To the left, a female figure with hat and ear protection aims an automatic pistol while looming above the entire scene is large male figure in outdoor clothing with hat and ear protectors aiming his rifle. While the scene strikes us as of the Vietnam War era of 1970, text punched into the metal by individual letter strikes, each 1/8” tall, along bottom edge reads: “To Pres. F.D. R. Dec. 7th, 1941 - A Call To Arms To All Americans.” We have not located any artist’s signature or maker’s mark. Condition is Exc. with a dark greenish patina on front and back. Possibly unique.
