16X20.5” full page ad ran in the Chicago Herald And Examiner and advertised the debut of “The Lone Ranger” comic strip on Sunday, Sep. 11, 1938. Bw art of Lone Ranger on Silver with text reading “Coming Next Sunday! The Lone Ranger. Here He Is At Last… For The First Time In Any Newspaper…The Lone Ranger, The Man Of Mystery, Masked Idol Of Millions, Modern Robin Hood, Hard-Riding, Fast-Shooting Hero Of The Western Plains. Beginning Sunday September 11, You’ll Find The Lone Ranger A Regular Feature In The Comic Weekly Section Of The Sunday Herald And Examiner. Follow Him In His Thrilling Rescues, And Daring Exploits, And Feats Of Courage And Grit. The Lone Ranger Rides Again With Tonto, His Indian-Chief Friend, And With Silver, His Snow-White Horse.” Text goes on to state “Be Sure To Follow The Adventures Of The Lone Ranger – In Color – Beginning Sunday, Sep. 11. On Monday, Sep. 12, The Lone Ranger Will Begin In The Chicago Evening American.” Upper right corner has 9” tear/piece off with tape repair.
