Item Description
3.25x5.5x15.75” box contains 17” tall cloth/wood/composition marionette of Howdy Doody. Peter Puppet Playthings Inc. ©Bob Smith. c. 1948-1950. Instructions for using “Unitrol” (one-piece controller) on underside of lid. Box has inked name on lid and even aging with scattered moisture stains to lid though these blend somewhat. Fine/VF. Marionette wears checkered fabric shirt with Howdy Doody character images and “HD” cheesecloth kerchief and composition boots. Vinyl belt with metal buckle. Head, hands and feet are composition. .25” crack at bottom of Howdy’s mouth and 1” sliver chip to his teeth but o/w Exc.
