Item Description
Pair w/Horace 9.75" tall and Clarabelle 8.75" tall. Solid ceramic figurines superbly detailed and painted w/high gloss finish. Horace is depicted tipping his hat while Clarabelle coyishly looks at him, hands clutched in front of her. Superbly crafted, these figurines capture the true essence of the 1930s images. Back of one shoe on each has incised name "Pot Davis" while underside of one shoe for each has incised date of "8-74." This pair and the following lot (#634) are the only such figurines we have ever seen w/this "Pot Davis" mark. Very possibly one of a kind creations. Regardless of their origin, they are of the highest quality and reminiscent of vintage figurines produced by the likes of Vernon Kiln, Shaw, etc. Near Mint.
