Item Description
2-7/8x4.25x.75" deep hinged lid tin litho case was made specially by J. Deliyanni to hold "Imperial Virginia Cigarettes" for the American Line of passenger ships running from Southampton, England to New York. c. 1893-1899. Lid features great image of passenger steamship w/American flag and other flag w/British Union Jack. Tin was made by Read Bros. of Liverpool. Inside of lid lists various facts about American Line ships and their routes. St. wear/aging to brass luster finish, a few 1/8" areas of oxidation in upper right corner of lid, .25" streak of bare metal showing. Fine+. Even comes w/2 vintage Deliyanni Imperial Virginia cigarettes.
