Item Description
Lot of 5 vintage bw news photos, measuring between 7x9" and 8x10". Two photos show aftermath of the Feb. 14, 1929 Chicago Gangland murders. One photo shows 3 sheet-draped bodies on gurneys, the other showing pallbearers carrying coffin of victim down church steps. Remaining 3 photos in lot deal with various sensationalistic news photos of notorious bank robber Dillinger's dead body. One photo shows body surrounded by Chicago law enforcement in the process of taking Dillinger's fingerprints. Another photo shows close-up of Dillinger's profile, his face streaked with blood. Another somewhat macabre photo shows pair of children posed with Dillinger's corpse beside his coffin. All 3 Dillinger photos have attached news sheet text on reverse. All photos curled with age, some showing moderate wear, St. Valentine's Day massacre photos VG, rest Fine.
