Item Description
2x2.5" square with gummed reverse has "Frankenstein" film title as well as 1931 film's tag line "The Man Who Made A Monster!" and Universal Picture - Carl Laemmle notations. Sticker has non-distinct image showing a towering figure looming over landscape. This image harkens back to pre-release "Frankenstein" promotional images used in early stages of the film's promotion when Frankenstein's Monster was to be played by Bela Lugosi, the part later going to Boris Karloff. c. 1930-1931. Gummed reverse shows some wear with surface paper loss not affecting front. Horizontal center tear repaired on reverse with adhesive tape. This tear also has a bit of color touch-up, repair being visible but not greatly distracting. Rare and first we've seen in our 42 years.
