Item Description
Haring opened his "Pop Shop" store April 19, 1986 on Lafayette St. in New York City. These buttons were sold at that store and the 7 small ones were issued annually. The first issue from 1986 is not here but the following seven annual issues are and 5 of these have been dated by the collector Marshall Levin. Sometimes Marshall got a bit behind on his button documentation so 2 of these are blank but their color schemes would imply they fit between the buttons that are dated. Dates on the back are in this form "'87" and include also 88, 89, 90, two without date and 93 the final white and dark green. In addition come three 1.5" buttons each marked identically on the reverse "©1985 Keith Haring" but two have Levin's tiny pencil notation "2/85." All essentially Mint as issued. Comes with Hake's COA. The small buttons are 1" with his copyright on the curl.
