Item Description
9.5x12" sheet of animation paper with 2 sets of peg holes along bottom margin and 2 peg holes along top margin as produced. Original lead pencil art showing character from 1934 Silly Symphony. Four full-body images as well as 3.75x4.25" paste-over with additional full-body image of Little Red Riding Hood with Fiddler Pig with production note "size comparison." Five smaller full-body images of Little Red Riding Hood interspersed with 3 facial portraits showing different expressions. This Silly Symphony was directed by Burt Gillette and animated by Les Clark. Short was released Apr. 14, 1934. This art was most likely drawn c. late 1933 as "The Big Bad Wolf" was a sequel to 1933's "The Three Little Pigs." Bottom center margin has "Little Red Riding Hood" text and cartoon serial number "U.S.17" (United Artists Silly Symphony No. 17). Art has some scattered correctional fluid marks and has even aging to sheet which shows some minor handling wear. Sheet is Fine/VF but art remains VF-Exc. Unique and historically important.
