Shown as Hake #25 with 2004 guide value of $4,500. This displays great, but there are four condition issues. Celluloid surface has numerous scattered tiny raised bumps, more on brown bkg. than his image and these just show in certain light angles. On his collar edge at right is a single tiny 1/8" long crack (craze). This is nearly invisible but will catch light. The single easily visible defect is a 1/8" dia. tan dot left of his ear. On the reverse, about 50% of the cardboard that formed an easel is gone. Curl reads "The Whitehead & Hoag Co. Newark, NJ" and "Copyright Underwood & Underwood." A great rarity which still displays extremely well with high gloss.
