Item Description
3x7x5.25" tall tin litho toy with built-in key comes in nicely illustrated box. ©1938. Box has one loose inner flap, other flaps have some creases but all remain intact. Additional box wear includes some light creases on one side panel, minor 1/8" puncture on one panel, 2" edge split on one flap. Illustrated panels remain bright and clean for display. About Fine. Toy features separate die-cut tin figures of Ferdinand and the Matador attached to separate bases that have wood wheels. Matador has separate arms and cape marked "Ferdinand" while Ferdinand has string tail. Toy works and travels along as it rocks about as if Ferdinand is charging after the Matador. The flexible metal bar that connects the 2 bases together pulled out from 1 of the 2 original slots and has been neatly re-soldered into place on underside. This does not affect display or operation, toy works perfectly. Toy has scattered small trace of wear including some pinpoint nicks to the figures, trace of paint wear to edges of bases. Remains totally bright and glossy. Displays VF. From the Tomart Archives and comes with COA signed by Tom Tumbusch & Ted Hake.
