Item Description
12" long painted aluminum body with rubber tires. Late 1940s. Plain cardboard box with black text has sealed orginal tape on one end, open with tape remants on other. Aging, lt dust. Fine. Car is marked on the bottom "Engineering And Manufacturing By Wizeler Manufacturing And Tool Co. Chicago USA For Woodettes, Inc." A most unusual air-operated model of a racing car. Decal reads "Woodettes Tornado Racer Powered By Mot-Air-Ette." Woodette decal one side is missing bottom corner which had "Patent" part of "Patent Pending" text. Woodette decal on other side only about 40% complete. Pair of #1 decals have few flakes. Rear has 5" long shaft with knob for pumping air into large metal tank inside racer. There is a 1x1.5" tag that fits on this shaft with operating instructions. Tag has veritcal crease, age toning, Fine. Pumping the shaft produces resistance but racer does not respond although all parts seem complete. Other than the aforementioned decal problems, car is VF with only a few pinpoint paint nicks. An unusual and interesting item produces by this short-lived American company right after WWII.
