Item Description
Produced in England for export to America. Known in 6" and 7" sizes and this is 7" diameter with alphabet around the raised outer rim. No maker's name. Both sides have typical near microscopic craze lines in the glaze with a trace of tanning very slight on the front and a bit more noticeable on reverse. Narrow line of glaze lost from around the plate's thin side edge (about 30%) but this does not show from front or back. Center has 3 dots of irregular or no glaze, probably as made: one right of face, one very bottom of vest and one at top of green accent at left. Rim has tiny dot of blue color by letter "H." Hake #3021 with 2004 revised value of $1,300. Hake #3020 shows mug with matching image. Overall VF. Rare. First we've offered.
