15.5x20". c. 1950s. India ink image area with litho crayon shading. Pencil caption at top reads "It's Hot Enough For Poor Ol' Will - /No By Line." Illustration includes Yankee player, jockey on horse, football player, boxer, Brooklyn Bum and Mullin himself. Mullin is seen saying "Why Don't A Couple Of You Guys Climb On Th' Drawing Paper And Make Like A Cartoon For Me?" Brooklyn Bum responds "I'd Be Glad Ter... But Ya Just Drawred Me So Soon." Random pencil notations at top and bottom. Mullin's signature is seen below bum. Neat gag on pebble grain thin art board. Mullin is recognized as the dean of 20th century sports cartoonists and creator of the Dodgers "Brooklyn Bum." Light surface dust. .75" bottom left corner missing. Image area will mat and frame to near Exc. appearance. A choice example of Mullin art.
