Complete set of five 8x10" pictures with choice full color art. From 1938. These were issued by sending in wrappers, a complete set of five was available for 25 wrappers and 10¢. These were issued with two back varieties, either blank or with text. "Tonto Saves The Lone Ranger, The Lone Ranger Rescues Joan At The Pit" have blank backs. The other 3 have printing on backs including "Series A" (the only series produced), picture number, text relating to that specific scene along with information on how the pictures were obtained. The three with text backs are #2, The Lone Ranger Licks Kester, #4, Tonto Fights Off The Troopers, #5, The Lone Ranger Foils A Murderer. "Tonto Saves" is also variety with mask over-print on The Lone Ranger. Each has small scattered trace of corner tip wear including some minor creases. The "Foils A Murderer" picture has a tiny 1/8" tear at top right and a very faint 1" crease line at waist of Lone Ranger but this barely shows. Reverses have trace of light aging. All defects are minor and front art retains deep, rich color. VF. Rarely found as a complete set.
