Item Description
Lot of nine, each 1.75x2.75". c. 1930s. Each features sepia tone photo of western star along with illustration of an animal and includes names of both along with studio name. These are Tom Mix/tiger, Hoot Gibson/polar bear, Bob Steele/serval, Tom Tyler/deer, Buck Jones/baboon, Tim McCoy/llama, Gary Cooper/cheetah, Wm. S. Hart/hartebeest, Ken Maynard/giraffe. Backs are blank. Buck Jones reverse has 1" strip of tape on bottom margin. Cards have scattered trace of margin/corner tip wear with slightest dust soiling. Cooper, Tyler, Steele and Gibson are Exc. Others are Fine/VF. Interesting cards and the first we've seen.
