Item Description
From same c. 1938 set as item #1748-1749. These very large and impressive ceramic figurines are each about 5x12x11.5" tall. One is Picador holding an lance and on a seated horse while the other is Toreador on swayback horse. The Picador has professional repairs to breaks at the neck and front legs of the horse. Complete with "Brayton" foil sticker although a bit aged. The Toreador has professional repair to break at one hind leg ankle. All of these repairs are only noticeable upon very close inspection, all color matches perfectly and blends. Top of Toreador's hat has a tiny 1/8" paint flake. Both pieces have normal and typical crazing. Both retain an exceptionally bright and glossy appearance and still display Exc. These are listed in Disneyana Collectors Guide To California Pottery at $800+ each. Both are the first we've ever offered.
