Item Description
Toy is 2.5x8x4.25" tall and consists of celluloid figures of Mickey and Pluto attached to painted tin wheeled platform bases. Japan, 1930s. Distributed by Geo. Borgfeldt Corp. Nicely illustrated box features an image of this toy on 4 side panels, end flaps have portraits of Mickey, Minnie and Pluto. While box is all original and complete, it has been professionally restored with inside reinforcement along all edges. Similar repair done to 1.5x1.5" corner area of one panel with tears. One side panel has 1" puncture. Other scattered wear/aging including .75" dia. tan stain spot on one panel. Still structurally sound and color remains strong. One end flap has original "Peoples Drug Stores" price sticker of 25¢. Still displays VG. Great toy features Mickey holding onto string reins attached to Pluto. Has built-in key and works, travels along when wound. Slightest wear with some scattered pinpoint paint nicks on the wheels but no cracks or dents to the celluloid figures. An exceptional example.
