Item Description
Total height of toy is 8", Minnie figure itself is 4" tall. Japan, 1930s. Distributed by Geo. Borgfeldt Corp. Box is worn and incomplete. Missing two of the inside end flaps, two others remain. The top and bottom flap closures are here but reattached on interior with tape. Each side panel has a long vertical split or two also with tape repair to interior. Top edge has a 1.5x1.5" piece missing at one corner, two smaller missing edge pieces about .5x1". Despite these defects, color remains deep and rich. Still displays Good. Minnie figure and parasol attachment are celluloid, wheeled platform base is painted tin. Has built-in key. Works and travels around as the parasol spins. The post for the parasol has a celluloid tube which attaches it to the post protruding from Minnie's head. While it stays in place using this tube and toy works, it is most likely missing a metal tube attachment piece but this could be replaced from any similar toy. Moderate scattered dust soiling but no dents or cracks. Trace of wear to base with some pinpoint nicks on the wheels. VF.
