Item Description
5-3/8” tall on a 4.75” wide cast metal base shaped like a “V.” Model is solid cast metal with removable antenna/ray gun. Clear acrylic stands hold model in place to base. Authentic design and detailing to the Martian war machines from the 1953 Sci-Fi classic. The first of several adaptations of H.G. Wells work by Producer George Pal. Only a few of these models were produced and given as gifts by Pal. The only other we know of was in the collection of Forrest J. Ackerman, legendary Sci-Fi fan, collector and authority. A truly exceptional display piece. Base has some crazing to top layer of paint with some nicks but model itself is Exc. Rare and first we’ve offered.
