Includes chapter on American poster with 6x8.5" tip-in by Vernon Grant for Southern Pacific Railroad, another by Hernando Villa for Santa Fe Railroad and Chicago 1933 World's Fair as well as several other U.S.A. tip-ins. Many beautiful tip-ins devoted to English travel via rail and ship plus many other advertising themes. Horace Taylor designs promoting underground railway use at Christmas. Includes images of Felix, Bonzo and Golliwog. Interior has one 3" tear along spine of page holding color tip-in of "His Master's Voice" by Francis Barraud. Interior o/w Exc. Spine very brown. Minor cover soil. Tight bindings. Original 1933 price from U.S.A. branch of Pittman Publishing was $8.50. A beautiful reference on 1933 era posters.
