Item Description
1-5/8" litho with curl copyright symbol and reads "1952 William Boyd." This is the highest ranking award button for the early 50s bank savings program for children. The club folders from 1950 specify the highest rank button as "Foreman" which was given to children reaching the $500 savings level. This button is from 2 years later It was awarded to club members who recruited one new savings account for the sponsoring bank either from an adult or another child. If the member recruited three new members an Honor Member wallet with Hoppy decal on brass front was awarded. Without question, it is the rarest of the series (except the two previous Canadian issues) and this is one of two examples we have seen in 40 years. Pair of .75" hairlines across hat's center don't even break the paint color and just show in reflected light. All else clean and Exc. In the Hoppy section see the extensive lot of Savings Club items which document the process and includes the wallet. Comes with Hake's COA.
