Item Description
About 2" dia. by New Haven Watch Co. Pocket watch has colorful and detailed dial picturing many characters from the strip alternating with designs of yellow triangles which surround the numerals. Popeye's die-cut arms with bold anchor designs and hands with pointing fingers tell the time while below his red legs is a second wheel showing full figure of Wimpy chasing a hamburger accented by a tiny pair of wings as if it is flying from his grasp. Nickel plating off front bezel and .25" deep outer perimeter of case back but dial remains clean and NM, although original crystal gives slight yellow tone. Easily replaced if desired. Watch runs well but loses about 1 minute per hour. Only 5th we've handled. Case VG with NM dial. Our last example boxed but with some dial wear realized $1,650.
