Item Description
Fascinating collection of impeachment-themed paper items for Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton, all framed under glass in 19x22" frame. Each item held by clear plastic corner mounts so easily removed if desired. The Johnson items are carte de visit portraits c. 1865. Second is C.D.V. size illustration card by Prang of Boston with extensive pencil graffiti that includes gallows, "Traitor" across his forehead, "KILL HIM" below image, "Copper Johnson" and two others hard to read. Third is 3x5" complete ticket to senate gallery for impeachment hearings May 4, 1868. Ticket is separated from stub along perforations, but not noticeable as displayed. There are 5 Clinton items. First is original color photo on campaign trail in Harrisburg, PA April 27, 1992. Second is "The White House" envelope postmarked once on inauguration day 1/20/97 and second time on 12/19/98 when U.S. House voted two articles of impeachment. Next is envelope of same design postmarked for 1/20/97 inauguration and then again postmarked 2/12/99, day Senate voted to acquit.
